Ahern State Park

Please remember that camping is not permitted within the park. Ahern State Park is also pet-friendly, making it a perfect destination for a day out with your furry friends. Opechee Park
Opechee Park, Laconia's largest and most versatile park, is a hub of recreational activities and community events. Spanning across a scenic area that includes two beautiful beaches—Opechee Cove and Opechee Point—this park offers something for everyone. Opechee Park is home to Laconia Little League, Laconia Middle School athletics, select Laconia High School sports, Opechee Day Camp, and the city’s skatepark. The park also features the Smith Track, a public track for walking and running, making it a perfect destination for fitness enthusiasts. Opechee Cove Beach, located along North Main Street, provides a serene spot for swimming and relaxation, though visitors are advised to swim at their own risk, as no lifeguards are on duty. The nearby Opechee Point Beach, tucked away behind the Opechee peninsula, offers a quieter beach experience, with cleaner water and similar facilities. Both beaches have bathhouses open daily during the beach season from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, weather permitting. For water sports enthusiasts, cartop boat launches are available at Opechee Cove, with designated areas for canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards, while Opechee Point is reserved strictly for swimming. The park's skatepark, located near the Fire Department, is a popular spot for skaters of all levels.
