SQUAM LAKE CRUISES – Holderness NH

This unforgettable guided tour has something new to delight you on every trip. Learn about the natural history of Squam Lake, look for majestic Bald Eagles, and listen for the haunting call of Common Loons. Hear about the people who have lived on its rocky shores surrounded by scenic mountains for over 5,000 years. Cruise on this beautiful lake where On Golden Pond was filmed 40 years ago.

Cruises are 90 minutes long and on canopied pontoon boats. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your cruise departure time. New Hampshire State law requires youth ages 12 and under to wear a life jacket on board. Cruises depart on Route 113 across from the Science Center.

2024 Schedule:

May 18 through June 30: Daily at 1:00 p.m.

July 1 through October 19: Daily at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.; Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays also at 3:00 p.m.

Space on all cruises is limited. Everyone must make advance reservations and payment. We do not hold seats or maintain waiting lists.

Cruise Rates: $32/adult; $30/senior (65+); $28/youth (up to age 15); members receive a $4 per person discount on lake cruises. Not recommended for children under age 5.

Parking:

Squam Lakes Natural Science Center is located on Route 113 in Holderness, NH. Park in Science Center parking lots and follow the walking path across Route 113 to Lake Cruise Headquarters. Please arrive 15 minutes before your cruise departure time.

An Alpine Church worship service takes place on Sunday mornings at the summit of Gunstock Mountain from Memorial Day weekend through mid-October.

The service starts at 10:15 a.m. Hike up or take the scenic chairlift ride. Mention Alpine Church at the ticket office if riding the lift and take the chair when it opens at 10 a.m. This gathering happens rain or shine.

Boat capacity is 10. We require at least 4 passengers for each tour. Bookings are not confirmed until this number has been reached.
