Vacation Week in Mount Washington Valley – America’s #1 Ski Town

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect week to escape to the mountains… this is it. Fresh snowfall, comfortable temps, and picture-perfect winter conditions have set the stage for an unforgettable vacation week in New Hampshire’s White Mountains.

Whether you’re chasing powder, cruising groomers, snowshoeing through quiet forests, or just here for the après and atmosphere, Mount Washington Valley is delivering.

🎿 Downhill Skiing & Après Fun

Cranmore Mountain Resort – North Conway

Cranapalooza is back and better than ever! This family-friendly après celebration runs daily from 2:30–4:30 pm in the Fairbanks Lodge. Kids can burn off extra energy at the tubing park while parents relax and soak in the fun. Classic North Conway energy, all week long.

Black Mountain – Jackson

Every trail is open. All five lifts are spinning. Conditions are about as good as it gets. Enjoy live entertainment in the Base Lodge from 2–8 pm and at the Alpine Cabin from 4–8 pm. It’s the perfect mix of laid-back and lively.

Attitash Mountain Resort – Bartlett

With two peaks—Attitash and Bear Peak—and more than 300 acres of terrain, there’s something here for everyone. Free live music fills both base lodges every afternoon this week, so your ski day can roll straight into après.

Bretton Woods

New Hampshire’s largest ski area offers sweeping views of Mount Washington, award-winning alpine terrain, and exceptional cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Not skiing? Try a horse-drawn sleigh ride or unwind at the legendary Omni Mount Washington Resort spa for a quintessential winter escape.

Wildcat Mountain – Pinkham Notch

Often ranked the most scenic ski mountain in the East, Wildcat pairs rugged terrain with breathtaking views. It’s a no-frills, adrenaline-fueled experience that stays true to its roots—while welcoming the next generation of skiers.

🎿 Nordic Skiing & Snowshoe Adventures

Mount Washington Valley Ski Touring Center

With 30 kilometers of groomed trails connecting Intervale, Kearsarge, and North Conway Village, this network is perfect for both classic and skate skiing. Guided snowshoe walks are offered every Saturday afternoon. Don’t miss the annual Chocolate Festival – the sweetest day on the trails! Festival tickets remain available through participating lodging partners.  Well behaved dogs are welcome in Whitaker Woods.

Jackson Ski Touring Foundation

A 100-kilometer trail network winds through forest and farmland in one of New England’s most charming ski villages. From leisurely touring to race-course skate skiing, there’s terrain for every level. Trails also connect to routes in Pinkham Notch and the surrounding White Mountain backcountry.

Bear Notch Ski Touring

Over 65 kilometers of trails offer riverside views, waterfalls, open meadows, and rolling hills. A hidden gem for those who love peaceful winter scenery.  Well behaved dogs are welcomed throughout the entire network

🛍️ Beyond the Slopes

Not everyone comes for the skiing—and that’s part of the magic.

Tax-free shopping in North Conway blends locally owned boutiques with renowned outlet stores along “the strip.” Pair that with a winter hike to Diana's Baths, a scenic train ride on the Conway Scenic Railroad, or breathtaking views from Echo Lake State Park and Cathedral Ledge.

For a classic New England drive, cruise the Kancamagus Highway and take in snow-covered peaks and postcard-worthy vistas.

🍺 Breweries & Dining

After a full day outdoors, settle in with local flavor:

Breweries:

  • Moat Mountain Smokehouse & Brewing Co.
  • Ledge Brewing Company
  • Tuckerman Brewing Company

Local Favorites:

  • Horsefeathers
  • Black Cap Grille
  • Newly reopened Scarecrow Pub
  • Flatbread Company

From first chair to fireside, powder turns to pastry stops, Mount Washington Valley truly shines during vacation week. If winter is your season, there’s no better place to be.
